2019 Bus Safety Week returns 18 - 24 February at Transdev NSW

Transdev NSW is proudly taking part in the Be Bus Aware, Bus Safety Week campaign from 18 to 26 February 2019. The campaign led by Transport for NSW aims to help all road users keep safe on and around buses.

At Transdev, the safety of our customers, employees and the communities we serve is our number one priority.

We all have a part to play: Safety is your responsibility too

Tips for pedestrians

  • Plan ahead and don't rush for the bus
  • Obey traffic signals and cross with care
  • Avoid being distracted by mobile devices
  • Stand back from the kerb when waiting for a bus.

Tips for parents

  • Always meet your child AT school or the bus stop. NEVER wait on the opposite side of the road and call them across.
  • Always supervise your child and hold their hand when walking to and from the bus stop or interchange and when crossing the road until they are at least 10.
  • Wait until the bus has gone then use a safe place to cross the road.

Tips for passengers

  • Press the button well before your stop to give the driver plenty time to stop safely
  • Wait until the bus has stopped before you get out of your seat.
  • Buses constantly move: stay alert and watch your step.
  • Where possible, remain seated until the bus stops, and take care when getting on and off the bus
  • Don’t be distracted by mobile devices.
